Rare Earth Magnets

The following is the "text" of my regular ebay advert for Rare Earth Magnets. (click to go to ebay listing)

Ebay advert begins ....

What are Rare Earth Magnets?

Rare Earth - Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB)

Super Magnets, where extra strength is required and where reduced size and maximum efficiency is an advantage. Used in engineering, electronics and medical fields. Sintered neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) magnets, also referred to as Rare Earth or 'neo' magnets offer the highest energy product of any material today. Earliest use of these magnets was primarily for voice coil motors (VCM's) in hard disk drives. Other applications include high performance motors, brushless DC motors, magnetic separation, magnetic resonance imaging, sensors and loudspeakers.

... and of course making our Warhammer addiction even better : - )

This offer is for 24 incredibly tiny and incredibly strong

Super Magnets .

Each magnet is just 3mm diameter x 1.5mm thick .

These are a few of the uses that I have put them to:

  • Attaching Jet Bikes and Hellions to those useless GW clear plastic stands.
How often have you cursed the stands when trying to attach a model?
Have you any stands where the little plastic tag is still attached :-)

These magnets are the exact diameter of the top of the stand without that annoying thin tag.
Using a pair of magnets to join the model to the stand certainly works for me,  no longer do I worry about breaking the stand and the models are much easier to transport to games.
  • I use magnets to allow me to swap weapon arms on my Dark Eldar Scourges - I simply bought extra weapon arms from the GW UK online store,  this was both cheaper than having extra scourges with alternative weapons and much less painting as I only had to paint 4 scourges and 8 weapon arms.

  • I have a Rhino that can transform into a Whirlwind - with or without the extra bits (dozer blade, pintle mounted storm bolter, hunter killer missile) or it can stay as a Rhino with extras - it takes literally seconds to setup and the beauty is that the bits can never break off during transport.

By using these extremely tiny magnets my developing army is much more versatile and stylish,  with the added benefit that it is far easier to transport undamaged.

I am sure that there are a few modders and converters out there that could certainly come up with far more interesting uses for these magnets.

You get 24 magnets for 10 bucks, nothing more to pay ...
the $10.00 includes delivery within Australia .

Ebay advert ends ....
